SturQuest Enterprises, in order to be fit for the future, needed to undergo a complex legal transformation following the closure of SturQuest, with whom there was a connected legal structure. We are delighted to announce this transformation is complete and the new entity has been named Stour Management (Dorset) Ltd.
Although the name and legal structure has changed, the aims and objectives of the organisation remain the same and are firmly rooted in the community.
Stour Management (and formerly SQE) have been established to generate income from licensing the six offices it leases to local small businesses or community organisations. After overheads, contributions to the Exchange and other costs are paid the aim is to distribute the surplus to fledgling or growing businesses, projects, groups and other organisations to the benefit of the local community.
Since April 2017 grants have been made totalling £30802. Recipients include:
SN Christmas Lights, the SN Economic Development Society, Taboo Theatre Company, Equilibrium, The Ark, Albert’s Dining Club, SN High School, SN Youth Club and Friends of Stour Connect, Dorset Defibrillator Scheme.
We place regular notices in Unity inviting applications, and then follow a straightforward process of evaluation (to ensure propriety as required by Company Law).
Stour Management has invited both the SNTC and the SN Building Trust to nominate one person each to be a member of the Board in a non-executive role to ensure an open and collective approach to supporting the community.
