Symonds & Sampson were established in 1858 and are one of the most respected firms of chartered surveyors, auctioneers and estate agents in the country, they also have their origins firmly rooted in Sturminster Newton.
In 1990 the old established firm Senior & Godwin, who had been working in the town for 150 years, amalgamated with Symonds & Sampson and a formidable partnership was formed.
The new firm continued to be the auctioneers in Sturminster Newton livestock market and were proud to boast that it was Britain’s largest calf market. The firm keeps market reports, posters and auction books back to the turn of the century and are honoured to keep the history, traditions and values of their founding fathers.
Symonds & Sampson occupy the most prominent position in the town at the Old Police Station and, as well as the court rooms, the cells have been preserved in all their Victorian splendour.
