NewTech – Sturminster Newton Community Learning Centre

Overview

The Learning Centre is in the Lydden Room in The Exchange, Sturminster Newton.

Drop in on Monday mornings or all day Wednesday :

• To use the Computers / Wi-fi / Printers / Virtual Reality
• To learn from scratch or more advanced topics of your choice
• To get help and advice or problems solved. Bring your own device if you wish.
• Computers, Tablets, Smartphones Digital Cameras, Sat Navs etc

All Welcome from the local area, North Dorset and beyond. Personal help, community organisations and local businesses.

Appointments for help and learning can be arranged outside drop-in times, including private use of up to three top quality virtual reality sets.

The Learning Centre is a Charity with entirely unpaid volunteer helpers. There are no fees but small donations help to cover costs of room/equipment.

Excellent meeting room with presentation facilities and computers for hire from The Exchange. Technical support available.

There are regular ‘hot-topic’ seminars of 1-2hrs on Wednesday afternoons, contact us for details and to book, currently these are:

    Buying and using a Smartphone

    Windows 11 Introduction

    Microsoft Office Workshop

    Backing up your files on Windows computers.

    The coming switch to digital phones on landlines
