The North Dorset Trailway Network is a Charity that is dedicated to extending and improving the Trailway, which is largely made up of sections of the old Somerset and Dorset Railway which used to link Bristol, Bournemouth and Christchurch. The North Dorset Trailway now extends from Sturminster Newton to Spetisbury, providing an off road trail for walkers, cyclists, horseriders and mobility scooters.

Future Strategy for the Trailway: We are working closely with Dorset County Council for improvement and extension of the trailway northwards to link to sections in Somerset and southwards from Spetisbury. An Impact Assessment from the Market Research Group at Bournemouth University supports our case for improved quality of life for locals and increased employment in recreation and tourism.
