The Emporium

Overview

The Emporium is our new” shop for stur” set up to generate funds for investment into the Town to help it survive the economic storms buffeting market town’s.

It is trading bric a brac, antiques and collectibles, household wares and some  small incidental furniture as well! It is a huge space that allows us to put twice as much goods on display than previously so feel free to come shop safely, enjoy the great community atmosphere, help us to re-use, recycle, and repurpose other people’s stuff at very low prices whilst at the same time supporting your town’s community and it’s great and continuing success.

We’ve all seen or read about predicted hard times in the COVID era but The Emporium is a sign of Stur fighting back. Come and join us to volunteer, shop or simply suggest how we can make things better. We look forward to welcoming you.

Did you know?

The Sturminster Newton Benefit Society Ltd is the organisation behind The Emporium and has already spent thousands of pounds supporting the Town?

It is responsible for the pictures you see in the banks windows.

It has helped purchase and supply flowers and planters around the Town high Street.

It runs this very web site and has paid to include the Who’s Who listing for the Towns service providers.

The charity is committed to helping local people as well and has been working with Yewstock School to provide work opportunities for their older pupils.

It has some more projects in the pipeline but would like to hear from the townspeople if they have some ideas they think it should sponsor or support.
