The Exchange is our community resource with almost no equivalent in the country let alone the county. Built using funds gathered from its community and almost entirely manned by volunteer staff it provides a social centre, a cafe, a place for markets,a home to charity and community events and above all else a performance space for local, national and international performers of a standing that belies Sturminster’s location and population. Our emphasis is on serving our community by making all of this affordable and within reach of our local populace ever mindful of the need to pay our way and not be a financial burden to the town. Notable successes over the years include concerts by Des O’Connor and presentations by Michael Portillo, himself incredulous that Sturminster could offer such a well equipped and supported facility. Wether it’s holding your own birthday disco, attending the annual SNADS panto or learning how to tell your IOS from your BIOS The Exchange and its staff extend a warm, helping and welcoming hand to you and friends.
